How to permanently delete your Facebook account
If you go into security settings on Facebook and “Deactivate” your account, did you know that it’s still there and will always be accesssible to any adverstisers that harvest data through the applications you installed, through Google searches, etc.? Facebook even tells you that they save all your information and that you can go back at any time. You can’t use that email on Facebook again for a new account either. Maybe you’d like a fresh start, or maybe you just want to move on to something new and different?
There is a way to permanently delete your Facebook account, once and for all. Click on the following link:

That’s going to take you to a page where you can confirm that you want to permanently delete your Facebook account. After you’ve completed this step, do not log back in to your account for 14 days, either directly on Facebook or through a partner site that uses Facebook information to log in, etc. After that, you can create your fresh new start, or simply just walk away knowing that your personal info is secure.
If this process somehow fails to permanently delete your Facebook account, simply email them at privacy@facebook.com simply requesting that Facebook permanently delete your account. You should receive a response back in a few days. Wait a week and if you still don’t get a response, send another email to support@facebook.com.
For whatever reason you may choose to delete your account, I hope this helps you out.

Our mobile site is now live!
As mentioned at the end of last year and to continue being on the leading edge of computer repair services in Barrie, I’ve been working on a mobile site for npinc.ca. I’m very pleased to announce that the mobile site has been completed. When you access the site from a Blackberry, iPod, iPad or iPhone and even a few other devices, you’ll reach our optimized mobile computer repair website. From there you can check the status of your repairs, interact with us, get directions and view our offerings in a web-app style environment. You can even set it to the home page of your device and use it like any other App.

Security software for Android users
I’ve been starting to post more about the consistent onslaught of attacks surfacing for Android-based products. Avast has just come out with a new, free mobile security software to help protect you. I highly recommend you install protection on your device to protect your device and it’s information.
Symantec (makers of Norton) source code stolen
Symantec, the makers of Norton products such as Norton Internet Security, has confirmed that they have had some of their software source code (programming) stolen. Portions of source code for their Endpoint enterprise protection products were stolen by hackers.
The spin doctors at Symantec are suggesting that there is no problem because it’s older code. Just buy their newest iteration and you should be fine. If the hackers came knocking at the door and asked “excuse me, can we please have that code?” would it have been just handed to them? Probably not.
While it was code for older products the concern is that the hackers will use it to find potential vulnerabilities in newer products and expose trade secrets, not an overly unrealistic expectation.
Despite the possibilities, at the end of the day I’m wondering “doesn’t Symantec have some type of security software to stop something like this from happening? ”
Android malware: Same tricks, new platform
Fake antivirus software has been plaguing Windows and OS X computers for a while now. The method is all too familiar. A window pops up, often mimicking real antivirus software. A “scan” starts running that as surely as the day is long finds “infections”. The list of infections is hard coded by the writers of the malware, so it doesn’t matter which machine this pops up on, the virus list is the same. At the end all you have to do to rescue yourself from these horrible threats is “activate” your new software…in other words hand over your credit card number to criminals.
Although I’m sure they have the best of intentions and won’t empty your credit card or steal your identity, it damages your computer and typically results in needing professional computer repair.
As is usually the case when something gets popular, thieves start targetting it as a new revenue stream. Kaspersky has found numerous instances show up for Google’s Android devices. They found SMS trojans that send premium SMS messages without the user being aware. They found that criminals are using the exact same techniques that they’ve been using for Windows and OS X.
